The home page masthead depicts River Valley Alliance’s new visual concept. The design reflects some of the unique geographic features and history of the river valley, its rural-urban make up, and some of the activities valley visitors enjoy.
From left to right: the golden swatch represents the high banks along the river on the western side of the valley and the rural nature of two RVA municipalities (Parkland County and Leduc County). The oil derrick is for Leduc #1, Alberta’s first oil well, and the canoe showcases both the early forms of travel along the river and the popular canoe launch site at Devon.
Moving into Edmonton, you will first see Fort Edmonton Park depicted to the west and then downtown with the provincial Legislature Building, distinctive pyramid of City Hall and tall buildings. Then it’s back to rural for Strathcona County and Sturgeon County, a tepee to recognize this region’s Aboriginal roots, and a mounted RCMP officer depicting Fort Saskatchewan.
