RVA wins Emerald Award

It was announced that The River Valley Alliance won a 2009 Emerald Award in the Community Group category. The Alberta Emerald Award Foundation hosts the annual Emerald Awards to recognize groups, organizations and individuals that enhance environmental awareness and to celebrate environmental excellence in Alberta. It is only through the vision and efforts put forward by the River Valley Alliance Board members, Administrators, and consulting team preparing the Plan of Action that this award was made possible.

Sol Rolingher, Chair of The River Valley Alliance was honoured with a City of Edmonton Salute to Excellence Community Builder Award, which recognizes Edmontonians who have contributed to the unique and diverse fabric of the community. Affectionately referred to as “Mr. River Valley”, his advocacy to preserve and enhance Edmonton’s river valley is just one of the ways in which he has been instrumental in building a world-class city for the enjoyment of all.
