The outstanding efforts of Sol Rolingher, Chair of The River Valley Alliance, have been recognized recently as Sol became the recipient of the Corporate Community Leader Award in the inaugural year of the Lieutenant Governor’s Leadership for Active Communities Awards.
The Lieutenant Governor’s Leadership for Active Communities Award recognizes the achievements of the teams and individuals who are leading their communities in strategic change that results in increased citizen engagement, high levels of participation in active living, recreation and sport leading to healthier people and communities.
“These awards encourage those who have dedicated themselves to creating excellence in active community leadership, using recreation and parks as a catalyst,” said Dr. Barry Mitchelson, Chair of the Recreation for Life Foundation, which serves as the fund arm development of Alberta Recreation and Parks Association. “Their demonstrated leadership is key to the success of broader efforts taking place across the province to enhance active living and quality of life enjoyed by all Albertans.”
